Free Play/Number/Letter Work
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Puzzles, books, arts & crafts, dress-up, housekeeping play, instruments, blocks, trains/cars, and so much more!
Note: Printing (number and letter) practice with teachers one-on-one during this time.

Circle Time
11:00 – 11:30 am
Morning song, news, calendar, clock, songs, counting, weather, show & tell, focus on numbers, introduction to addition and subtraction.

Outdoor Play
11:30 – 12:00 p.m.
Outside games and sports activities, gardening, sandbox, hula-hoops, balls, croquet, gardening and so much more. (Caring for our vegetable garden is part of outdoor play in the springtime.)
Note: On very rainy days we use the classroom to dance and tumble using indoor mats as well as bowl.

Cooking/Baking (Various times throughout the week)
The children learn to measure, combine, mix, sift, cookie-cut and roll ingredients. Discussions and comparisons of ingredients and their role in a recipe, as well as texture and taste comparisons, are just a few of the areas covered during cooking/baking at Little Sprouts.

Story time/Theme Circle
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Theme related stories, songs and poems along with discussions and experiments. A schedule of the year’s monthly themes is provided each September or at the time of registration.

Theme related Art Activity/Phonics
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Art activities are open and closed ended and always relate to our theme. Focus on letter of the day and phonemic awareness of all letters - introduction to reading.

Snack
1:30 p.m. – 1:40 p.m.
Little Spouts provides a nutritious snack at the end of the day. On days the children have baked or cooked, they will be served that food item as their end of the day snack.

Fees
A flat monthly fee (paid by 10 post dated cheques) is required when registering in the Little Sprouts program.

Summer Camp (July and August)
The Little Sprouts Summer Camp is held at the Stevens Street location in White Rock. This program begins July and August. Parents have the flexibility of enrolling their child for July and/or August and can also choose any 5 days or more in both or either month to register. Summer rates are $46 per day.

Summer Reading (July and August)
The Little Sprouts "I'm Ready to Read" summer program will be held at the Russell Avenue location in White Rock, on Tuesday's and Thursday's for both July and August 2012. For more information on the this program, times and fees, please click on the "reading program" link at the bottom of the page.
After School Program (Russell Avenue) The Little Sprouts After School Program runs from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parents have the option to pick from 1 to 5 days per week, however they are committed to this schedule for the school year. Fees for this program will be announced through email during August 2012 through email. The children attending the Stevens Street location are welcome to join this After School program at Russell Avenue and are walked up to the school at the end of the day by their teacher.
I'm Ready to Read Program (September to June) This program is runs for the school year at the Russell Avenue location from 3:00p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday/Wednessday or Tuesday/Thursday. Before and After School Program (Rosemary Heights)
Little Sprouts is very excited to announce a new Before and After School Program, which will begin September 4, 2012. This program has a class maximum of just 8 children, which is an ideal class size for young children in the primary grades. The program is set in the Little Sprouts preschool classroom at Rosemary Heights Elementary, with “pick up” to and from the K to 3 grade classrooms before and after school.
Each day the children will be free to enjoy the materials, toys and equipment in classroom, as well as more age appropriate toys and games for the higher grade level children. This Before and After School program is suited to meet the individual needs of your child, and offers activities such as crafts, baking, indoor /outdoor play and homework help.
This program’s flexible schedule also allows parents to register for full or part time days, with a single day drop-in option should space be available. If you are looking for a quality program with a small class size in your child’s school environment, then this program is right for you!

Registration
Shortly after registering you will receive an automatic response followed (in a few days) by a phone call or email to discuss your specific request. If for some reason you are not contacted a few days after registering, please call my office line at 604-535-6167 or 604-760-6284 to ensure your registration was received.
Program Requirement Information

Children must be able to use the bathroom on their own, as it is just outside the classroom.

All families will abide by the Little Sprouts Policy as outlined in the parent handbook.
Tax Receipts
A tax receipt will be provided for each year you are registered in the program.
Rosemary Heights Professional Days
-
The Little Sprouts Before and After School Program will be closed on Rosemary Heights Professional Days, however the program will remain open at the set times on early dismissal days should it still be required by parents.

Due to space and staff requirements, this program cannot accommodate children outside of the program’s scheduled hours, such as early dismissal days.
Fee Requirements
-
A $150 deposit is due at the time of registration. A portion ($100 of the deposit) will be returned to you at the end of the school year, provided your child does not leave the program from September to June.

10 post dated cheques are due at the time of registration. These cheques are made payable to Little Sprouts for the 1st of each month.
Lateness Policy
-
A $1 per minute late fee will be charged should lateness occur.
-
A $2 per minute late fee will be charged should a second a second or further lateness occur.
-
Ongoing lateness will not be allowed.
Withdrawal or Reduction of Days
-
2 months notice must be provided in writing (email) to withdraw from the program or reduce your days.
-
Notice of withdrawal or a reduction of days will not be allowed between
July 1, 2012 – August 31, 2012 or after March 1, 2013, due to the small class size and demand for the program.

A $100 charge will be required to reduce your schedule.
