Morning song, news, calendar, clock, songs, counting, weather, show & tell, focus on numbers, introduction to addition and subtraction.

Outdoor Play
11:30 – 12:00 a.m.
Outside games and sports activities, gardening, sandbox, hula-hoops, balls, croquet, gardening and so much more. (Caring for our vegetable garden is part of outdoor play in the springtime.)
Note: On very rainy days we use the classroom to dance and tumble using indoor mats as well as bowl.

Cooking/Baking (Various times throughout the week)
The children learn to measure, combine, mix, sift, cookie-cut and roll ingredients. Discussions and comparisons of ingredients and their role in a recipe, as well as texture and taste comparisons, are just a few of the areas covered during cooking/baking at Little Sprouts.

Story time/Theme Circle
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Theme related stories, songs and poems along with discussions and experiments. A schedule of the year’s monthly themes is provided each September or at the time of registration.

Theme related Art Activity/Phonics
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Art activities are open and closed ended and always relate to our theme. Focus on letter of the day and phonemic awareness of all letters - introduction to reading.

Snack
1:30 p.m. – 1:40 p.m.
Little Spouts provides a nutritious snack at the end of the day. On days the children have baked or cooked, they will be served that food item as their end of the day snack.
